It’s a sad, sad day for Sonos fans everywhere…the Play:1 has been discontinued. The writing had been on the wall since the release of the Sonos One, which is almost identical in every way with the addition of Alexa and Google Assistant built in.
The Play:1 has long been a benchmark of sound quality at the $199 price point, but starting yesterday, you can pick up a Play:1 from Amazon for $62 off! Sonos has assured customers that they will continue to support the Play:1, and you will always have the ability to stream one of the largest collections of content of any smart speaker. The one drawback to the Play:1 is that you cannot set it up to play in stereo mode with Sonos One speakers.
The sale will go on for as long as Amazon has units to sell. If you’ve always been curious about Sonos but thought the price was too high, or if you wanted to expand your Sonos collection, there has never been a better time to pick up a Play:1.
